Beyond my practice, I use other forms of media to explore and share my experiences as a psychologist. This is distinct from my clinical practice; I don't use social media or podcasts to market my psychological services.

The information contained on those platforms and on this page are purely for educational and entertainment purposes and should not be considered clinical content or professional advice.

My public Instagram account is a place where I bring together my professional expertise and personal observations to explore the experience of being human.

Engaging with me there does not initiate or constitute a client-therapist relationship. If you are a client and choose to follow me, please read the first pinned post for more information on how to interact with this account.

Wired for This

A podcast with Dr. Emily Kerner. Conversations that explore our tendency to pathologize the parts of being human that we are in fact uniquely wired for. The central question is: who would we be if we'd just been allowed?

Currently in development.

Cree Board of Health and Social Services of James Bay

Consultant to Disability Programs Specialized Services (DPSS) Team

Logo with a yellow circular symbol containing a cross, and text in French and English for the Board of Health and Social Services of James Bay.

In 2022, I joined the DPSS team as their psychologist consultant. DPSS provides resources and support to several regional (in the community) teams at the Cree Health Board. We do this through knowledge sharing, collaboration and management of complex disability cases in the communities, neuro-disability program delivery, respite planning, and funding.

In my role as a consultant, I provide expertise and support to DPSS social workers, behavioral consultants, and occupational therapists so they can better support the community-based case managers with whom they collaborate. I also develop, build, and facilitate trainings on neurodevelopmental disabilities. To date topics have included: trauma and disabilities, trauma and ADHD, the ADHD brain, and Parenting & ADHD. These trainings are available online on the DPSS website, but were designed specifically for the Cree community.
